Holiday Shop: Honey by Ravens Run Farm

from $18.00

***PLEASE NOTE: Holiday Shop orders will be available for pickup on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 4 - 7pm at Oakley Farm in Warm Springs, VA. Holiday orders CANNOT be fulfilled before this date and time.

The Ravens Run Bees forage the slopes of Jack Mountain to gather nectar from flowering trees such as maple, black locust, and basswood. In the fields and pastures below, they gather nectar from thistle, blackberry, clover, and a seasonal progression of other flowering plants. Back in the hives they convert the nectar to a clear and delicate honey – and they make enough to share.

Options:

  • Regular Honey, sold in 22 ounce pint jars and 44 ounce quart jars.

  • Creamed Honey, 100% raw honey with a smooth spreadable consistency and a lighter color than liquid honey. Creamed honey is produced through management of natural honey crystallization. Sold in 22 ounce pint jars.

Ravens Run Bees is a small apiary in the upper Jackson River valley of Highland County. Beekeepers, Rick and Susan Webb, feel privileged to raise bees in a remarkably wild and beautiful area that has abundant natural nectar sources and is distant from chemically intensive agriculture.
